The Brecksville dining scene is about to get a bold new addition. Renowned chef and restaurateur Dante Boccuzzi is bringing his latest culinary concept—Masu—to the vibrant Valor Acres development. Opening in summer 2025, Masu promises to deliver an exceptional sushi experience rooted in traditional Japanese flavors and elevated by modern culinary techniques.

Located in the heart of Valor Acres in Brecksville, Ohio, Masu will combine fast-casual lunch offerings with a refined, sit-down sushi bar and dinner experience. It’s the latest project from Boccuzzi, known for acclaimed Cleveland-area restaurants Ginko and Goma.

What to Expect at Masu at Valor Acres

Masu will bring a fresh and dynamic concept to Brecksville restaurants by offering premium fast-casual sushi rolls and bowls for lunch, a high-end dinner experience, mirroring the quality and creativity found at Ginko and Goma. Masu will also offer a sleek and modern interior designed for both casual diners and sushi connoisseurs as well as a sushi bar and full-service restaurant setting perfect for date nights, business dinners, and celebrations

“This is a concept that’s been years in the making,” said Boccuzzi. “Masu will showcase the craftsmanship and precision that defines Japanese cuisine, while also offering an approachable, exciting vibe right in the center of Valor Acres.”

Meet the Culinary Team: Chef Jacob McDaniel

At the helm of the kitchen will be Chef Jacob McDaniel, a longtime collaborator with Boccuzzi and current chef at Ginko. Known for his precision, consistency, and deep respect for Japanese tradition, McDaniel brings years of experience and creativity to the new concept.

“Jacob has been with me in all my restaurants for years,” said Boccuzzi. “His technique, dedication, and understanding of this cuisine make him the perfect chef to lead Masu.”

Masu Adds to the Growth of Valor Acres, Brecksville’s Premier Destination

Masu joins a growing roster of restaurants and lifestyle destinations at Valor Acres, including the newly opened DiGeronimo Companies headquarters, Canvas at Valor Acres, and Primer Coffee & Cocktails. The neighborhood is also welcoming the soon-to-open Sherwin-Williams Research & Development Center and a new AC Marriott hotel.
